As a Green Party member, you can be as active as you like - from armchair and online support to standing as a candidate for election. For information about joining the party, finding out who the local Greens are, or perhaps just coming along to one of our meetings please email Gilly Charters (firstname.lastname@example.org) or visit our Facebook and Twitter pages.
If you want to join right now, just click here: https://my.greenparty.org.uk/civicrm/membership/joining.
Even if you don't want to make the commitment of joining us, we always welcome supporters and volunteers.
Could you help deliver leaflets to your street, put a poster up in your window at election time, or go out with our campaign team and speak to local residents about their concerns? Do you have fundraising experience or web design, press, research and administrative skills? Whatever your level of experience and however much or little time you can give, we would love to hear from you.
Contact Gilly Charters (email@example.com) or visit our Facebook and Twitter pages to find out more.
Our wish is to give every voter in Harrogate District the chance to vote Green in both national and local elections.
We stood a record number of candidates in the 2015 Council elections and contested, for the first time ever, the parliamentary elections in all 3 constituencies within our district - Harrogate & Knaresborough, Skipon & Ripon and Selby & Ainsty. We have also fielded candidates in the parish council elections in Knaresborough and Ripon, succeeding in getting Elizabeth Collins and Bill Rigby - elected to Knaresborough Town Council.
Building on this momentum, we are aiming to deliver Harrogate's first Green voices. However, we need all the help we can get to make this a reality.
Becoming a candidate need not be particularly demanding - how much work you put in is up to you. Please contact Gilly Charters (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to know more about what is involved. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates.
